company history
Philip Manchee, the founder of Manchee Leather, has a long history in the leather business. At age l8 he worked in an Italian Calf Tannery in Varese, Italy.
After completing his university degree he moved to Perugia, Italy to study the Italian language. He continued to live in Italy working in several tanneries in the Vicenza(Arzignano) area.
Upon his return he co-founded Spinneybeck and was the president until it was sold to Knoll International. He remained with the company for several years until he founded Manchee Leather. During the same time he co-founded The Leather Institute and LeResco, two leather furniture repair and restoration companies that continue to offer their services to the industry.
Manchee Leather works with a large tannery group in Arzignano, Italy offering a broad selection of qualities and colors to the furniture industry.
